Our commitment
Township of Tewksbury is committed to equal access to its digital services for people with disabilities. We work to make municipal information, programs, services, activities, documents, and communications usable with a broad range of browsers, devices, and assistive technologies.
Accessibility standard and status
Our regulatory baseline is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We also apply WCAG 2.2 practices where feasible. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and undergoing continuing remediation. Partially conformant means that some content or features may not yet fully meet the standard. This statement is not a certification that every page, document, or third-party service is free of accessibility barriers.
Measures we take
The Municipality and its website provider support accessibility through measures such as:
- semantic headings, regions, lists, tables, and form controls;
- keyboard operation, skip navigation, logical focus order, and visible focus indicators;
- responsive reflow, text resizing, readable spacing, and reduced-motion support;
- color-contrast review and information that does not rely only on color;
- descriptive page titles, links, labels, instructions, errors, and status announcements;
- alternative text for meaningful images and decorative-image handling;
- content-editor guidance and remediation of reported barriers; and
- automated checks plus manual keyboard, zoom/reflow, contrast, and screen-reader spot checks.
Accessibility widgets or overlays, including UserWay when enabled, are supplemental tools. They do not replace accessible source code, content, documents, testing, or reasonable accommodations.
Known limitations
Despite ongoing work, some areas may present barriers:
- Documents: Legacy PDFs, scans, agendas, minutes, forms, and archived documents may lack tags, headings, reading order, searchable text, form labels, or sufficient contrast.
- Audio and video: Older recordings or live streams may not include captions, transcripts, or audio description.
- Third-party features: Search, maps, payment, legal-ad, reporting, calendar, social, translation, streaming, and embedded services may not provide the same accessibility as this website.
- Machine translation: Automated translations may contain errors or present limitations for some assistive technologies.
We prioritize barriers that block access to essential municipal services. If an item is not accessible, contact us for an alternative or assistance.
Request an accessible alternative or accommodation
You may request an accessible document, caption or transcript, help completing an online process, or another reasonable communication method. Tell us the page or document, the barrier, and the format or assistance you prefer. You do not need to provide a diagnosis or medical details. We will work with the responsible municipal office to provide access as soon as reasonably practicable.
Do not use an accessibility request for an emergency; call 911. A request does not automatically extend a legal or filing deadline unless the responsible municipal office confirms an extension.
Accessibility feedback
We welcome reports about accessibility barriers on https://tewksburytwp.alphadogtest.com . If possible, include the page address, a description of the problem, your preferred accessible format, and the browser or assistive technology involved. Those technical details are optional. We aim to acknowledge feedback within a reasonable period and provide a status or accessible alternative as soon as practicable.

Escalation and outside resources
If an accessibility concern is not resolved, ask for the Municipality’s ADA Coordinator. If no coordinator is listed, contact the municipal clerk or primary contact above. Information about Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act is available from the U.S. Department of Justice ADA website. This reference does not indicate that the Department of Justice has reviewed or approved this website.
Responsibilities and third-party content
The Municipality owns and approves municipal content, documents, service policies, and third-party feature choices. AlphaDog Solutions develops and supports the website platform and technical remediation under its municipal agreement. Users should report third-party barriers to the Municipality; the Municipality and AlphaDog Solutions will investigate within their respective roles and coordinate with a third-party provider where feasible.
This division of responsibilities does not waive anyone’s disability rights, excuse legal obligations that apply to content made available through contractors, guarantee that a third-party service can be changed, or alter the Municipality’s contract with AlphaDog Solutions.
Assessment and updates
Accessibility is assessed through a combination of automated and manual review. This statement will be reviewed after material platform, content, or vendor changes and updated when our status or known limitations change. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
